interview process

I have conducted my interview with my stepmother a native of Robeson County, NC. She was quite helpful, some questions were a little confusing being she wasn't an high school graduate, but I thought she was the good candidate to do this interview.

Response for the 9/6 class « mythoughtsgoneviral:
I also notice that the when I was doing my research about the townships. I have lived in Scotland County 18 years and I didn't even know that. Scotland County has a wide range of different health care facilities. I was in a store in Robeson County and the clerk was pregnant, I her say to the other store clerk, " I'm not letting none of these doctors around here be my doctor," and that's when the other clerk replied, "welll Laurinburg got a very good OBGYN facility." Many natives other counties feel that Scotland County is doing well for itself, but residents of the county beg to differ.

Place Matters! Community Health « brittanylavonne: "I totally agree with you. I have lived in Scotland County for 18 years and all I see is children having babies and STDs arising in the area. Also, I work at Bojangles for 2 years and the most people came at 7 o clock. An older woman that used to work with me would get called in to night shift and she would say, " Don't these people know anything you eat after 7pm turns in to fat." Families are waiting to late at night to get their child something to eat, due to the laziness of not wanting to cook. When I took health in high school, we learned Scotland County was #31 in statistics of STDs in North Carolina. In highschool I began to believe getting pregnant was a fashion because everytime you turn around a pregnant female was walking pass you."

Scotland County

For this entry I decided to study Scotland County since that where I'm from. As I research Scotland County I found out that white people make up about 48% of the population followed by African Americans. Also, it didn't surprise me to see that the main crime in Scotland County was burglary followed by murder from 2004-2009. I'm pretty sure at the end of the year, it will be murder due to the deaths that have been occurring every weekend. Also, I found out that people spend most of their household expenditures on health care and utilities.

As I read U.S Public Health Service Syphilis Study at Tuskegee, It amazed me how the study was carried out in Macon County, Alabama. The same place that civil rights had occur back in 1965.
Also, it was good to see that they tried to help the poor by providing them with cure, and they tried their best to prevent it from happening again.
As for the article the "U.S Apologizes for Syphilis Tests in Guatemala," was about Americans would take prostitutes who already had the disease, would have sex with them to give them the disease, but if it wouldn't work they would put the bacteria on their skin, scraps to affect them. This article was sad to see that America would do individuals like this just because they were prisoners.
