Lupus

Lupus is when your immune system is attacking itself. Lupus is said to come about in a person's life between the ages of 15 and 45. Systemic Lupus Erythematosus is said to be an orphan disease. This means that there are less than 200,000 people are affected. Also, Lupus is known as a woman's disease, being that 9 out of 10 people are affected are women. Lupus has been recorded in individuals as early as neonatal years, and as old as 89 years old. The onset of lupus after the age of 45 is very rare and after the age of 70 its extremely unusual. Lupus has been diagnosed in kidneys, skin, brain and many other organs in the body. Lupus is mainly caused by genetics and can be triggered by stress. This is usually call a flare in your lupus. Lupus may cause you to take many different medications. If you are in pain, have inflammation, swelling in your joints , or show weakness you should have your doctor test you for lupus.
